What the hell do our government does presently? do they conduct a research throughout before they implemented the Math/Science with English schooling in both elementary school and secondary school? how do they arbitrary turn abruptly the education system in current status quo based on a weak assessment, which they say many rural students were so being lost in Math/Science English schooling . Who the minor groups/societies back the abolishing of status quo education that they think that the current education would not be viable in long run? do they have completely let the system working within a duration of 20 years before we talk? - about can or can not? what a silly decision made by our government.
Our pretty government thinks that they can be bore whatsoever they could, what a insightful of their perceptions. Apparently, they deems that all our children was born with superior intellectual or gift. Today is Malay, tomorrow is English in turn.
Okey!! so, if our government decides to adopt Malay in Math/Science; don't you(the government/a minor association) would raise the stupid question again " ohh, we should abandon Malay and apply English for Science/Math" because of the overrating of Bahasa Malayu in international academic using. It's junk now, btw =) "ohh, according to year 2025 education assessment data, the rate of student enrollment to the public/private college and university is too low. Our children's English fundamental is so weak." =)
oh!! great!! so, let do whatever you want?government!! you will regret to change after too late for remediating. But the fact and the problem are still there and unsolved, for sure:
1) One upon a time, Malaysia was in British colonialism, our senior citizen whose being educated could read/write/speak well in English/Malay/Chinese, for example, my uncle, father etc. Since the government abolished English as an intermediate language in the school system, but nowadays, i notice that some students don't even understand a simple sentence in English. "Can you help me translate it to Chinese?" Indeed, we are nothing to be proud. To say that our people proud of saying trilingual? no way.. don't say that adopts Malay can improve our English level. This system has experiment since around year 1971. so, do our English consider good?
2) Stop overrate science and math academic in BM. Obviously, switching to what languages would also cause a certain problem, but the question is which would beneficial the most. Please the people do not accusing for implementing English as a problem for our student. The problem is you probably, your favoritism. English is a language that still rules the science and math.
3) Our populaces have enough. Not just in white elephant infrastructure, bureaucracy, excessive military expense and corruption etc, our country has already wasted a lot of resources and money to do somethings that never happened, all is in vain, Education, for example. Supposing that our young are equipped with variety of bullets to mastery the fundamental skills, but now, our children not only to be a litmus test in their laboratory, our children not even really master a proper English, Malay, and Chinese etc.
For heaven's sake, education is not a zero sum game. it takes time to educate the our young and to absorb. We are lack behind to other countries. Stop being an extremists, hater or naysayer, blind favoritism in your ideology or somethings that you think is right, it does mean something/anythings. Because of your favoritism than others and lack of your sight view, a bad decision that you made would finally pay at these prices, which it would eventually be effected our children learning progression, our future, and maybe some our children might fail to align with the world.
In my perspective, i insist Math/Science English schooling in secondary and high school. Well, English is a compulsory subject that must have to pass before entering college/university.
